    • The goal of the clinic is to provide evidence-based behavior assessment (descriptive and experimental functional analysis) and intervention services to families in order reduce behaviors that interfere with learning and/or daily functioning (i.e. self-injury, aggression, self-stim). These services will be offered in a clinical format with 1-2 hour intervention sessions per day for each student enrolled in the clinic. Parents will be trained in carrying out behavior interventions in the home setting.
    • In addition, Stepping Stones Center will be providing clinical intervention services for 1-2 hour sessions to children who are enrolled in other special education programs or attending mainstream schools but require support in language and academics.
    • Clinic Timings : 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on all week days

These services are provided in the following location:

  • Stepping Stones center, RxDx hospital, Whitefield, Bangalore

Speech and Language Therapy

We , Speech and Language Therapist at the center focus on assessment and intervention for individuals with impairments in Language, Articulation, Voice, Fluency, Resonance (quality of speech), Prosody ( tone and rhythm of speech) and literacy skills.

Assessment and treatment for Speech and Language Disorders focuses on following skills:

  • Developmental delays or deviances in acquisition of language skills
  • Clarity, rhythm and precision of speech
  • Quality and loudness of voice
  • Rate and flow of speech
  • Post stroke rehabilitation
  • Oral sensory motor and vegetative skills
  • Literacy skills

Occupational Therapy

If a child shows problems or difficulties in any one or more of the following areas, it is essential for the parent to consult an Occupational therapist:

  • Fine motor skills
  • Hand writing skills
  • Gross motor skills
  • Visual-motor skills
  • Oral motor skills
  • Self care skills
  • Sensory integration
  • Motor planning skills
  • Occupational therapist evaluate a child’s skill for playing, performance in school and daily activities and compares them with what is developmentally appropriate for the age group. The above-mentioned skills are assessed using standardized and non- standardized tools, parent interview and clinical observation of child’s performance.
