Speech and Language Therapy
Building Communication Skills for Life
Speech and Language Therapy helps children develop the ability to understand, express, and use language effectively. At Stepping Stones Center, certified Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) work closely with families to support children with a wide range of speech, language, and feeding challenges.
Our approach focuses on improving clarity, social communication, and overall confidence in everyday interactions.

What Is Speech and Language Therapy?
Speech and Language Therapy is a structured intervention that supports children who have difficulty with:
- Speech sounds and articulation
- Understanding and using language
- Stuttering and fluency
- Voice quality and modulation
- Social use of language (pragmatics)
- Feeding and swallowing difficulties
Children with autism, ADHD, developmental delays, hearing impairments, and learning disabilities often benefit from early and individualized speech therapy.
Who Can Benefit from Speech Therapy?
Speech therapy may help if your child:
- Has delayed speech or limited vocabulary
- Struggles to follow instructions or understand language
- Is difficult to understand when speaking
- Repeats phrases or shows echolalia
- Has trouble forming sentences or using grammar
- Finds it hard to engage in back-and-forth conversations
- Avoids talking or communicating in groups
- Has difficulty with feeding or swallowing

- Play-based learning, visuals, gestures, and AAC tools
