Welcome to the Stepping Stone Center

Stepping Stones Center is an organization dedicated to promoting the understanding and application of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) through various services for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or other developmental disabilities and their families since 2013. Here, we believe that every child has the potential to gain skills that are above their current functioning if we use the right instructional methods and scaffold their skills. Therefore, ABA is our scientific foundation from which our interventions are derived.

Applied Behaviour Analysis is the science, which studies principles of learning and behaviour. It is a systematic approach for changing socially significant behaviours through changing environmental variables.

Behaviour analysts and practitioners they supervise provide services to address skill deficits (e.g., communication, activities of daily living), academics, and improve problem behaviour (e.g., aggression, self-injurious behaviour).

Vision

Our vision is to develop a multispecialty center to work collaboratively across different professions. While building on the foundations created by the science of Applied Behavior Analysis in its school program, we work to integrate our services in order to take holistic approach and benefit the child. We look forward to moving our students into our collaborating inclusive general education program at the time they are ready to benefit from such placement.

Mission

Our mission is to provide evidence-based behaviour analytic intervention to children with autism and other developmental disabilities. We strive to give our students necessary skills to move into and be successful in an inclusive setting. The overall mission is to guide our students to an independent life in order to enable them to live successfully as equals in the neurotypical world.
